Content marketing is a powerful strategy used by businesses to attract and engage with their target audience. And I’ve got some awesome content marketing strategies to share with you!
I have either done these strategies myself or helped someone implement these strategies in their business. That’s why I’m recommending these four strategies because I’ve seen all of them work really well.
This blog is a series of six articles. This is the 1st article where I give you an overview of these four content marketing strategies.
Then, in the remaining articles of this series, I go into much more detail on each of these strategies in a separate blog post.
There are Four Content Marketing Strategies that I think work the best right now:
- Written Content
- Short-Form Video Content
- Long-Form Video Content
- Podcasting
First Strategy: Written Content
The first strategy is Written Content.
If you don’t want to record yourself and you prefer to write, then this is a good strategy for you.
It is true that video content and podcasts are the most popular content types right now, but people still read online and written content isn’t going anywhere soon.
For this strategy, you can:
- Start a website with a blog from search engines like Google and Bing
- Promote your blog and your articles on two social media platforms, Twitter and Pinterest
- Combine with Email Marketing Strategy
This is essential to get traffic and readers from different platforms. And eventually, turn your readers into clients.
The complete client journey will look like this:
- They either find your article on a search engine or on one of your social media accounts
- Then they will click on the link to read the article
- After reading the article, they sign up for your newsletter or for your email list
- After reading a few of your emails, they can purchase one of your books
- Either they buy one of your more expensive courses or hire you as their coach or consultant.
Second Strategy: Short-Form Video Content
The second strategy is Short-Form Video Content.
Short-Form Video Content is usually between 10 and 60 seconds short. These are the types of videos that you can record with your phone and then upload to all major social media platforms, especially:
- TikTok
- YouTube
You can specialize on either Instagram or TikTok. Then simply upload the same videos to your other accounts.
It is really important that you build a community. Try considering Facebook Group. Inside your Facebook group, you can start to engage with your audience by:
- Asking questions
- Having conversations with your audience
- Doing regular live streams to answer their questions
The client journey looks like this:
- They discover your account on their favorite social media platform
- They watch several of your short videos
- Then they join your community in your Facebook group
- That’s where they can participate in your live streams
It is in these live streams where you can:
- Invite them to do a challenge with you
- Sign up for a workshop with you
- Schedule a call with you
Third Strategy: Long-Form Video Content
The third content marketing strategy is Long-Form Video Content.
Long-form videos are usually 5 minutes and longer. These types of videos take more time and effort to produce.
That’s why they are considered more valuable and usually people will continue to watch these videos even years after you’ve uploaded them.
For long-form videos, the best platforms are:
- YouTube
- Facebook Page
This video strategy goes well together with:
- Challenges
- Masterclasses
- Workshops
- Webinars
Once someone has completed one of these programs, they will be more likely to schedule a call with you and hire you as a coach or consultant. They can also buy one of your more expensive courses or programs.
Whichever of these things you offer, make sure you have a landing page prepared and you collect people’s email addresses beforehand.
Client journey for Long-Form Video looks like this:
- Watches your videos
- Clicks on a link to sign up for your webinar
- Participates in the webinar
- Schedules a call with you or buys your course
Personally, I really like this strategy and I often recommend this one to my clients.
I also have a program for people who want my help creating videos that attract clients and grow their businesses. If you want to find out more about this program, go to my website creategrowprofit.com/video-group.
Fourth Strategy: Podcasting
The fourth content marketing strategy is Podcasting.
Podcasts have been rising in popularity over recent years and many experts believe they will continue to do so.
A podcast is essentially an audio recording of yourself, or you having a conversation with someone else, that people can listen to.
Think of your podcast almost like a little radio show and each recording is a new episode. Popular platforms to host your podcast on are:
- Spotify
- Google Podcasts
- Apple Podcasts
- Stitcher
Consider the following tactics in promoting your podcast:
- Share a snippet to your social media accounts
- Write summaries and post in online
By doing this, you can attract new listeners that can be your clients in no time.
Keep in mind that, podcasters usually enjoy a much deeper relationship with their audience so consider offering a wide variety of services such as:
- Book
- Course
- Membership site
- Other services
Here is what the customer journey looks like for Podcasting:
- Discover bits of your content on social media
- Check out your profile where they find a link to your podcast
- Listen to your podcast
- Hear your Call-To-Action in an episode to buy your book
- Download your book
- Be part of your email list, where you can inspire them to buy a higher-ticket offer

My short form videos are generating more pop on YouTube these days. For the longest time, my regular length videos nabbed a few views. But my shorts uploaded via my phone began generating a few hundred views to even a few thousand views, sometimes in hours. Things are really taking off on that end for me. Fabulous strategies here my friend.
Love to hear this, Ryan! YouTube especially wants to grow its market share of ‘short form video’ which is why the platform is pushing out shorts even more than standard videos right now. Glad it’s been working out so well for you!
Cheers! Great article!
Thanks 🙂
