How To Do Client Outreach (Ethically, Successfully, Without Ads)

In this article, I’m going to show you how you can do client outreach ethically, successfully, and without paying for ads.

Believe it or not, client outreach works best when you don’t try to sell anything.

If you follow this strategy, you will have a much easier time finding clients online – and you’ll probably even start to enjoy client outreach.

That’s why I want to introduce you to a strategy that is much easier to implement.

And when you see that you can be relaxed and successful, you might even start to enjoy client outreach.

How To Find Clients On Social Media?

When I decided to dive into social media marketing, all I wanted to do was connect with people and find clients through these connections.

But I had a big problem: Nobody knew me and I didn’t know anybody.

So if you’re in a similar situation right now, then let me show you what I did back then to find my first few buyers.

I was doing this on Twitter, but for you I really recommend that you start with Facebook Groups. (If you want to join our group for online marketing ideas, click here.)

To make this strategy work, you have to remember these two rules:

  1. Do not promote yourself
  2. Only genuine connections lead to clients

If you follow these two rules, you will have a much easier time doing client outreach and it won’t even feel like marketing or sales.

Step 1: Joining Facebook Groups

The first thing you want to do is this: Join two Facebook groups in your niche, and these groups have to be large and active.

That means:

  • When you look into the group’s discussion section, there have to be several posts per day from different people.
  • And it’s even better when there are several comments under each post.

Once you’ve found two such groups, join them.

(If you are very dedicated and have 1 hour time per day for client outreach, then I suggest you join even more than just two groups.)

Step 2: Daily Client Outreach Routine

Once you’ve joined a few groups, this is what your daily routine will look like:

  1. Scroll through all the recent posts.
  2. Look for questions.
  3. Answer as many questions as you can.
  4. IMPORTANT: Don’t try to show off, don’t say you’re an expert, just give a helpful answer.

And from now on, you have to do this every single day in all the groups you’ve joined.

This is the crucial part: Making it your daily habit. The more consistent you are with this, the sooner you’ll be talking to potential clients.

Step 3: How To Have Client Conversations

When you’ve done step 2 for a couple of weeks, now you can start with step 3.

As people notice that you’re very knowledgeable and helpful, you can start connecting with people from the group.

And I can’t highlight this enough: These connections have to be genuine.

That means:

  • You’re NOT helping to sell something.
  • You’re helping to actually help.

It may seem like a small difference. However, this mindset shift is the most important element for successful client outreach, especially on social media and in Facebook groups.

The Secret To Successful Client Outreach

When you follow these three steps, what will happen is that you will start to have private conversations with some of these people.

(Private conversations on Facebook mean you’ll be talking in the DMs, the direct messages.)

Just imagine what can happen to you when you start to have such conversations every single day.

The more such conversations you have, the more potential clients you’ll meet.

And once you’re talking to potential clients every single day, that’s when you’re business really starts to take off.
