5 Ways to GROW Your YouTube Channel in 2024

YouTube Subscribe

I’m going to show you 5 ways to promote your YouTube Channel so that you can grow your channel faster, even if the YouTube algorithm isn’t pushing your videos to more people yet.

This channel usually gets around 1 to 2 subscribers per day, but last week I got a boost overnight, jumping up almost by 10 subscribers. For bigger channels, this sounds like nothing of course. But for brand-new channels, this is quite a jump.

The interesting thing is that when I checked my analytics, I saw that the subscribers didn’t come from any particular video or short.

However, I posted a video on TikTok, and I got a jump in subscribers the same night when that TikTok video got thousands of views.

This confirms what I’ve learned from my old YouTube channel, and that is: that promoting your channel outside of YouTube is important.

If you promote your channel, and more people start watching your videos, then it is very likely that you get the YouTube snowball rolling faster.

So here’s my first tip:

Tip #1: Share The Right Link

Be sure that you share your link with the subscriber popup.

Many YouTubers don’t know this but you can add a parameter to your channel link and when somebody clicks that link, not only will they land directly on your channel page, but there will also be a pop-up asking them to subscribe.

To get this link is very easy:

  1. Go to your channel page
  2. Then, look at the URL in the web browser
  3. Now at the end of the link, you add this parameter: ?sub_confirmation=1

Now you can share this link with people and they will be asked to subscribe as soon as they see your channel page.

Tip #2: Connect Your TikTok Account

TikTok is a fantastic platform for all creators to promote their content.

For YouTubers, it’s even better because you can connect your TikTok account to your YouTube account.

By linking your TikTok account to your YouTube channel, you can see a YouTube button on your TikTok profile. From there, you can take your online presence to the next level!

Make sure to write a clear call-to-action into your TikTok profile. You want to bring attention to the YouTube button.

Put the right link in there as we discussed in the first tip, and your TikTok viewers will be asked to subscribe as soon as they’ve clicked that button.

Of course, this only works if you also post videos on TikTok. But if you’re making YouTube videos, you should have no problems making a couple of short videos for TikTok every week.

As a side note, you could also do this method on Instagram.

It’s just that Instagram doesn’t have the YouTube icon button on your profile and I just haven’t personally pushed my YouTube channel much on Instagram, which is why I feel like I shouldn’t be talking about it here.

Tip #3: Twitter Thread

I see almost nobody doing this but it works really well.

Just one side note: I’m going to call the platform X, and not Twitter since they have recently rebranded their platform and changed the name. But X and Twitter are still the same thing.

So here’s what you do:

  1. Every time you publish a YouTube video, you go to X and write a short summary of the video.
  2. Take the title of the video as the headline for the thread.
  3. Write the summary in such a way that it explains the same topic but on a higher level.
  4. At the end of the summary, post the video link with a clear CTA, telling readers to go watch the video.
  5. And I recommend that you do it as a thread.

So even if you are on an X subscription, where you have the blue checkmark on your profile, I still recommend writing it as a thread and not as a long-form post.

What’s the difference? Let me show you here:

This is a long-form post on X from Colin Landforce. It looks like a blog post or article and it can be up to 2,000 characters long.

This here is a thread. It’s a sequence of tweets, where each tweet can be up to 280 characters. You create this chain of tweets by always replying to your own previous tweet. That’s why it’s called a thread.

I posted this thread about the 17 Laws of Marketing after I was done uploading its video on my YouTube channel.

The reason you want to do it as a thread is because of your video link. Just like all social media platforms, X doesn’t like it when you post a link.

Posts that include a link get shown to fewer people because X doesn’t want its users to leave the platform and make somebody else rich.

By writing a thread, your first few tweets don’t have any links and are purely text. And only in the very last tweet will you put the link.

So there’s a better chance that people will see your first tweet of the thread because it doesn’t contain a link.

The key to making this strategy work is that you write these threads regularly.

When somebody visits your X profile, there should be several of these threads when they scroll down your tweet history. Why?

  • Because that’s how people become impressed.
  • They see you are serious and dedicated.
  • Then they’ll be more curious to check out your YouTube channel.

In addition to that, of course, put your YouTube channel link into your X profile. And as always, put the link that includes the subscriber popup as I’ve shown you at the start.

Tip #4: Guest on Podcasts/Shows

When promoting your YouTube channel, you don’t want to just show it to anyone, you want to show it to people who would be interested in your content in the first place.

One of the best ways to get in front of such audiences is to be a guest on podcasts or shows within your niche.

Why? Because there is a very high likelihood that their audience overlaps with your audience.

Your goal here is:

  1. To bring value to the podcast or show.
  2. And position yourself as a YouTuber.

If you’ve been a good guest, then many listeners of the podcast will go check out your channel even just out of pure curiosity to see who you are and what kind of videos you produce.

And if they like what they see, they may just subscribe right away.

Don’t forget to do the following tips once you guest on podcasts or shows:

  • Engage with your audience.
  • Share insights about the topic you will be discussing
  • And make a lasting impression.

Tip #5: Always Promote Your YouTube Channel

Tip number five is, in my opinion, the most important tip.

Because if you don’t do what I’m about to tell you here, all the previous tips don’t matter.

Listen: The key to these promotion strategies is that you are fully committed to promoting your YouTube channel.

Most of the people in your audience don’t have the capacity to understand all the things that you do.

If you go to TikTok and X, for example, then know what your goal is for that platform.

In my case;

  • TikTok is only for promoting my YouTube channel.
  • And X is for promoting my email list.

There’s nothing special about these goals because I also used to only promote my YouTube channel in the past when X was still called Twitter.

The key is that you promote one thing and one thing only. That’s how you stand out and that’s how you make an impact.

If that goal is to get more viewers and subscribers on your YouTube channel, then don’t mention any other things like:

  • Your email list.
  • Your book on Amazon.
  • Your calendar bookings page.

You have to constantly remind people that you are a YouTuber and that you’re uploading videos every week, and that’s how you make them curious about you.

Now, of course, it wouldn’t be a list of tips if there wasn’t a bonus tip at the end.

Bonus Tip: Promote to Your Email List

If you’re a coach, consultant, or even a freelancer selling your services online, then you have to have an email list.

So here’s what I do:

  1. Whenever I post a new video, I email my list with a quick summary or introduction to the video’s topic.
  2. And at the end, I put the video link.

This helps a lot with building more trust and authority with your list because now not only do they read your emails but they can also see you on camera.

Of course, to do this strategy you need an email list in the first place.

That’s why I’ve prepared this article here for you to show you how to get 1000s of email subscribers faster than you ever did before.

So what do you think of the tips I shared above? Do you have anything more to add? Let’s talk about it on the comment. See you there!
